ArchitectMade | Turning Tray by Finn Juhl (Black and Green)
Turning Tray was designed in 1956 by Finn Juhl, bearing his trademark curved teak frame and precise corner joints. Made without handles, the tray’s curvature allows space for it to be easily picked up. Dual-sided, the Turning Tray boasts two glossy laminate sides: one side is black and the other one is either blue, green or white, so you can choose which colour to display. The sides are held together by carefully crafted corner joints.
These handmade trays are exactly to Finn Juhl’s specifications, with curves, colours and discreet details that all reveal his fantastic sense for design.

Designer/Architect
Finn Juhl stands out as one of the most successful international breakthroughs. To date he is one of Denmark’s most famous architects, known for his bold, sculptural forms and ultra-refined detailing. Juhl entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Architecture in Copenhagen in 1930 without any experience as a craftsman.
Juhl’s work had a great influence on the following generations of Scandinavian design. He went on to design the Trusteeship Council Chamber in the United Nations Headquarters in New York as a gift from Denmark to the UN and is renowned for stating, “One cannot create happiness with beautiful objects, but one can ruin quite a lot of happiness with bad ones.”
